Last night saw an inspiring story develop out on the Pine Ridge.
On the Last Real Indians blog, Chase Iron Eyes shares the story well:
Social networks, telephones, and word of mouth networks were abuzz with reports of Oglala Lakota Nationals preventing oil pipeline materials, destined for Canadian Tar sands and/or Keystone XL infrastructure locales or some unknown destination, from being transported across the Pine Ridge Reservation’s Treaty territory. The story has the makings of a Hollywood movie, with rumors of the FBI on the way, corporate - state government conspiracy, and brave grandmothers in wheelchairs facing down the big, evil corporation's trucks.A money comment:
Hoka hey! Can you imagine if we had Facebook and twitter when columbus landed?! LOL. On-the-ground reporting and pictures are also posted on Censored News.
